MITEM adds Enterprise Messaging
Support with Release 6.0 of MitemView
First product designed to
standardize the development of interfaces between legacy systems and
messaging middleware
MENLO PARK, CA - Nov, 19th 2002 - MITEM Corporation, a leading provider
of legacy integration software, today announced the immediate availability
of MitemView version 6.0. This major release includes a new Enterprise
Messaging Architecture that bridges the gap between legacy systems and
messaging middleware. Other significant features include support for
the Microsoft .NET platform, five new or improved terminal interfaces
and further additions to the ProStart template library.
MitemView's new Enterprise Messaging Architecture provides a consistent
way to work with virtually any messaging middleware solution. This architecture
is designed to support today's pervasive middleware technologies including
IBM MQSeries, TIBCO Rendezvous and ActiveEnterprise, HL7, XML, ASC X12,
JMS and SOAP. The 6.0 release exposes myriad complex interfaces as easy-to-use,
high-level adapters that take full advantage of the powerful MitemView
framework.
"We have designed our messaging support from the ground up to
avoid the unwieldy 'patchwork quilt' approach that requires discrete
knowledge of different interfaces. MITEM now has support for enterprise
messaging that is on par with our expertise in legacy terminal interfaces.
This robust framework allows us to rapidly support additional messaging
interfaces as our customers demand", stated Martin Fincham, vice
president of marketing for MITEM.
By providing the ability to quickly integrate legacy applications with
any messaging backbone, MitemView 6.0 allows companies to connect disparate
systems, further automate business processes, and accelerate the deployment
of end-to-end integration solutions while maintaining the performance
and reliability of business critical applications. MitemView 6.0 is
an integration solution that is infrastructure-ready; it is compatible
and convergent with existing enterprise systems as well as whatever
technology requirements an organization may add in the future.
MitemView 6.0 ships with support for:
- IBM MQSeries, TIBCO Rendezvous and TIBCO Active Enterprise. Additional
messaging interfaces will become available throughout 2003.
- Five new or improved terminal interfaces: HP 700 family (includes
models 2400, 2600, 2700), ADDS, Wyse, Televideo and Hazeltine.
- The Microsoft .NET platform: MitemView applications can now be developed
using Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET in addition to the existing
support for Visual Basic 6.0 and Java.
- New ProStart templates: ProStart, a Wizard-style application development
tool, uses pre-built templates to automatically generate the foundation
of a MitemView-based application. Several new templates are available
in this release to assist customers with reducing development time
and gaining efficiencies by using a powerful, reliable foundation
upon which they can quickly build composite applications.
- Enhanced development tools: Various improvements to the tools and
utilities that comprise the MitemView Software Development Kit (SDK).
About MitemView
MitemView is the industry's proven, non-invasive integration solution
used to create composite applications from existing legacy system assets.
By adopting a non-invasive approach to integration, MitemView serves
as a truly universal adapter, able to interface with any existing or
future system regardless of the underlying operating system, programming
language, database, communications protocol or messaging infrastructure.
Unlike other middleware and screen-scraping products, MitemView is engineered
to preserve the high performance and reliability of business-critical
applications.
MitemView's unique message processing system enables legacy applications,
with no apparent formal message structure, to communicate with a MitemView
server in a message-oriented way. This happens without modifying the
legacy applications to 'message enable' them. Message-oriented systems
simplify the integration control logic and maintain a flexible, loosely
coupled architecture that enhances adaptability.
