MatrixOne Integrates MitemView
to Improve Legacy System Communication and Collaboration
Software Integration Improves
Access to Data and Transactions Through the Value Chain to Increase
Productivity and Reduce Costs
Menlo Park, Calif. and Chelmsford, Mass. - March 29, 2001 - MatrixOne,
Inc. (NASDAQ: MONE), the first in Intelligent Collaborative CommerceTM,
and MITEM Corporation, a leading provider of legacy integration software
for conducting real-time e-Business, today announced the integration
of MitemView® into MatrixOne's eMatrixTM
platform. This agreement will enable MatrixOne customers to easily access
data and transactions from virtually any legacy system in a completely
non-invasive way, requiring no changes or additions to existing systems
and reducing both the cost and implementation time.
MatrixOne's eMatrix framework and business applications improve the
flow of information, integrate business processes and facilitate collaboration
among partners, suppliers and customers. The addition of MitemView
to the eMatrix platform will enable eMatrix users and other trading
partners to communicate effectively and efficiently regardless of legacy
enterprise applications, development languages or database structures
in place.
Additionally, the MITEM Adaplet provides true real-time application
integration, providing users with the most current information rather
than out-of-date batch updates or data from day-old replicated databases.
This provides more accurate information to the user, increasing productivity
and ensuring reliable decision processing of eMatrix data.
"As customers seek to improve productivity and reliable data processing
across multiple legacy systems, it will become increasingly important
to employ software that allows for easy access to data and transactions,"
said Mark Bierschied, director of integrated e-Business solutions for
MatrixOne. "This integration with MitemView ensures that
current or prospective MatrixOne customers can achieve easy access to
information with minimum disruption to their existing business processes."
The integration of any character-based application into the eMatrix
platform is now made possible because MitemView functions independently
of hardware, operating systems and database structures. Rather, the
software uses the existing application interface - typically a terminal
data stream - as a high-speed channel to the existing business logic.
As a result, eMatrix customers enjoy more flexibility in the applications
they can use and decreased maintenance costs, as well as increased return
on investment on their legacy systems.
"MITEM Corporation is excited to contribute to the success of
MatrixOne's eMatrix collaborative commerce solution," said Martin
Fincham, MITEM's vice president of marketing. "This pre-built and
tested integration between MitemView and eMatrix will improve
efficiency and profitability throughout the value chain."
