MITEM Corporation Appoints Vice
President of Marketing
Fincham brings deep market
understanding and international experience
to support MITEM's rapid growth
MENLO PARK, CA (16 June, 2000) - MITEM Corporation, the leading provider
of legacy integration software for conducting real-time eBusiness, today
announced the appointment of Martin D. Fincham as vice president of
marketing. Fincham was previously the managing director of MITEM (Europe)
Limited, responsible for MITEM's operations in Europe, Middle East and
Africa. As a key member of the corporate management team, based at MITEM's
world headquarters, Fincham will develop and implement MITEM's strategic
global marketing plan.
"To date, MITEM has demonstrated the value of its products, generated
an international base of blue-chip customers, dominated target market
segments, and completed two acquisitions so far this year," said
Gale Aguilar, president and COO of MITEM. "Some marketing fundamentals
have been in place, but essentially the company has been trading on
the strength of its reputation - almost by word-of-mouth alone. Martin's
in-depth understanding of MITEM, and expertise in the global integration
software market, gives him the ability to have an immediate and dramatic
effect on our business."
Fincham was originally the founder & managing director of Alchemy
Computing, establishing MITEM's presence in Europe in 1994. MITEM acquired
Alchemy in April 2000 and Fincham became managing director of MITEM
(Europe) Ltd. During those six years he pioneered the distribution of
middleware and EAI tools to the European market, and secured major blue-chip
customers for MITEM in the UK, France, Italy and Switzerland. A recognized
expert in the EAI industry, Fincham is a sought-after commentator and
public speaker. Prior to founding Alchemy, he held technical, sales
and marketing positions at various computer software & services
companies. He began his career as an engineering apprentice at British
Aerospace.
"As a software marketer, it has been gratifying to raise MITEM's
status in Europe from unknown to that of thought-leader for the non-invasive
approach to integration. I will repeat that success for MITEM in the
domestic and other international markets." he promised. A bold
statement perhaps, but one that is in keeping with MITEM's history of
employing a bold marketer with the ability to re-write the rules. The
company's first marketing executive was Geoffrey Moore (of "Crossing
the Chasm" fame) whose books are now required reading at Stanford,
Harvard and MIT.
